The Black Women In Comedy Laff Fest was born out of rage. For decades of being left out, unseen, and overlooked in the stand up comedy industry, we decided it was time to have something of our own. The festival will take place over a her-larious (5) five-day Juneteenth celebration this summer in New York City. We will showcase some of the best, brightest, and funniest black women, those who identify as women, and those from the LGBTQIA+ community at various venues throughout New York City.

With an emphasis on all facets of comedy, our goal is to create opportunities for Black Women to be seen, heard, and influential in changing the narrative while simultaneously empowering our “sisterhood” to look out for one another in a safe and nurturing environment where we all get to shine. ~ Joanna M. These women will open up our 4th Annual festival with an all-star showcase with a special screening of web series Moonie written by and starring Farah Desvarieux and headliner Glo Butler.

The festival will take place over a her-larious (5) five-day Juneteenth celebration this summer in New York City with Opening Night at Littlefield Wednesday June 14th until Sunday June 18th with the Best of the Fest!
