Bucky Hayes is a Southern-bred, Brooklyn-based songwriter. Since moving the NYC in 2005, he has released two solo albums and one with his band, Bucky Hayes and The Radio. Their self-titled debut is a reflection of Bucky’s intelligent, folk-tinged lyrics, music firmly rooted in country/soul/rock-n-roll influences, and the unique syles that each member brings to the table. Bucky met lead guitarist Matt Lenny at an open mic, where their musical connection left them playing each other’s tunes all night. Becoming members of each others’ bands, Bucky met Sonny Ratcliff, who would go on to produce Bucky’s second solo album, The Roux, as well as become a member of The Radio himself. Still looking for just the right bass player, Sonny introduced his friend Bobby McCullough, and the pieces fell into place. A successful East Coast tour and new album confirmed it; Bucky Hayes and The Radio had found their sound.
