The Masquerade of the Red Death Returns!
After a two-year hiatus, Electric Literature’s Masquerade of the Red Death is back! Join us for an evening of drinks and dancing at Littlefield in Gowanus, Brooklyn on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 8 – 11 PM.
As before, (eye) masks will be provided, and the dress code is red or black festive attire.
Early bird tickets are on sale now for $50 before September 19, and $75 thereafter. The event will likely sell out, so act fast!
We are aware that hosting a party inspired by a short story about the plague requires a certain hubris, but who are we to abandon a literary work when it proves itself prescient? In that spirit, this year’s Masquerade will honor excellence and innovation in pandemic fiction.
Those not in the New York area can participate in the fun through attendant virtual events (to be announced), and by supporting our work with a donation.
In the before times, the Masquerade was Electric Literature’s most raucous and well-attended celebration of our work and mission—it was also our most important fundraiser of the year. We’re so looking forward to dressing up, raising a glass, busting a move, and celebrating with our community once again!
